History

The first written mention of the farm dates from 976, when Emperor Otto II feoffed the abbey Worms with the agriculture estate “Dudtunfeld”. The Dottenfelder Hof remained in monastic possession until the secularisation in1803.

The Landgraves of Hesse, as subsequent owners, relinquished the farm in the course of land reform to the land settlement society of Nassau in 1951. From that time on the farm became more and more object of speculation (30 hectares thus lost) and thereby the subject of a dramatic struggle of the tenants for the preservation.
